Sunday Sermon – April 5, 2026 – What’s Your Priority?

by Living Waters Christian Center | Apr 11, 2026

Have you ever felt like life just won't go according to your script? In a recent message at Living Waters Christian Center, Pastor Jeffery Gaskin, Sr. challenged us to reconsider the interruptions in our lives. Often, we view sudden shifts as mere annoyances, but through the lens of faith, we discover they are actually divine appointments.

Your Plan vs. God’s Purpose

We all have plans to protect ourselves and ensure our comfort. Pastor Gaskin noted that, like the woman at the well in John 4, we often develop plans centered on survival rather than overcoming. She went to the well at noon to avoid the whispers of the crowd, a plan for peace rooted in her own limitations.

However, the message is clear: the problem with our plan is that it is not big enough for God. When we limit our expectations to what we can control, we miss the exceedingly and abundantly that He wants to release. As the word reminds us in Proverbs 19:21, you can make many plans, but the Lord's purpose will prevail.

From Annoyance to Anointing

Pastor Gaskin introduced a transformative perspective: what you feel is an annoyance is actually an opportunity for anointing. Just as an olive must be crushed to produce oil with healing properties, our struggles often serve to produce the oil of the Spirit in our lives.

When God disrupts your schedule or challenges your hardened exterior, He is inviting you into a spiritual transfusion. The disruption is a signal that God has a plan with sustaining power that can keep you in the midst of any storm, just as He sustained the widow at Zerapath during the famine.

Worship Until the Fog Lifts

One of the most powerful takeaways was the call to worship until you can see clearly. Disappointments and past failures can create a thick fog that obscures the vision for our future.

Pastor Gaskin encouraged us to use worship as fog lights. Much like cars equipped to handle murky weather, your worship allows you to navigate when the path ahead is unclear. Worship doesn't always change the situation immediately, but it changes your spirit from the inside out.

Expect an Experience

When we manage our own lives, we are simply fixing something to eat. But when we allow God to take the lead, He prepares an experience that exceeds our wildest dreams. Pastor Gaskin shared how his sons realized the difference between a simple meal and a true experience, and God wants to provide that same level of excellence for your soul.

As we continue with our 2026 Greater theme, let us stop challenging the Word and instead allow the Word to challenge us. Let us trade our small survival plans for His massive purpose.
